CouncilTaxAppeal ("we", "our", "us") operates the website counciltaxappeal.co.uk.

What data we collect

When you use our free checker, we collect your postcode to look up council tax band data. We do not store this data unless you make a purchase.

When you purchase a report or appeal pack, we collect: your email address, postcode, and the property address you checked. Payment details are processed by Stripe and we do not see or store your card number.

How we use your data

We use your data to: generate your report or appeal pack, send it to your email, and provide appeal tracking if you purchased the Complete Appeal Pack.

Third-party processors

We use the following services to operate: Supabase (database hosting, EU region), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (website hosting). Each processes data under their own privacy policies.

Data from public sources

Our checker uses publicly available data from: the Valuation Office Agency (council tax bands), the EPC Register (energy performance certificates), HM Land Registry (property sale prices), and the Valuation Tribunal (appeal decisions). This data is published under the Open Government Licence or is publicly accessible.

We use essential cookies only to operate the website. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
